Day 1: Ouarzazate – Skoura – Valley of Roses – Road of a Thousand Kasbahs – Dadès Gorges – Todra Gorges

Depart at 8:30 AM from Ouarzazate, the “desert’s gateway,” known for its cinematic kasbahs and dramatic landscapes. Cross arid expanses to the Skoura Oasis, a verdant gem with dense palm groves and the iconic Amridil Kasbah, a masterpiece of mud-brick architecture. Continue through the romantic Valley of Roses, famed for its rose cultivation and artisanal distilleries, blooming vibrantly in spring. Follow the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, dotted with fortified hamlets and Berber history. By late morning, reach the Dadès Gorges, the “Fig Valley,” for lunch at a restaurant with views of striking rock formations. Follow the Paris-Dakar rally track to Foum Zguid for lunch at a local restaurant. Continue to Taznakht, famous for its colorful, handwoven Berber carpets, visiting a women’s cooperative to explore traditional weaving.
